These past two weeks we have been reading about the story “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This interesting story explores the unique friendship between a stranded pilot and a curious boy from an asteroid. Through their encounter in the Sahara Desert, this narrative highlights the importance of imagination and friendship. The story also contrasts the children's pure perspective with a narrow minded and lack of imaginations usually seen in adults. According to the article "Spark Notes” the author Antoine de Saint Exupéry wrote “The little prince” during World War 2 after Germany's invasion of France and it forced him to leave aviation and escape to New York. The article talks about how the war in Europe, along with being separated from his homeland and not being about to fly planes anymore affect Antoine de Saint- Exupéry. As a result, he wrote the novel to reflect on his nostalgia for his childhood.

The story begins with a pilot who is stranded in the Sahara Desert after his plane crashed. There he meets this young man who he refers to as the Little Prince, who came to Earth from his small asteroid. The little prince talks about his journey between all these different planets where he met various types of people. Through these stories, the pilot gains a new perspective on life and sees the importance in friendship and imaginations.

In the beginning of the story, the initial conflict that arose was when the pilot’s plane crashed in the middle of the Sahara Desert, it isolated him and put him in a life threatening situation if he could fix his plane’s engines. He then meets this boy called the “Little prince, and they have a conversation and start to connect on many things. As the pilot and then Little Prince spend more time together in the desert, they start to bond over conversation and storytelling. The Little prince shares stories about his steroid home and his travels to different plants, each encounter revealing the different aspects of human nature. The pilot tries to focus on important tasks like repairing his plan but he would be so interested and drawn to the Little Prince's stories and questions. The Little Prince slowly lets the pilot reflect on his own values and priorities. Through his conversations with the Little Prince, the Pilot gains a whole different perspective and insight into human connections and what truly matters in life. He learns to see the world in the eyes of a child and appreciate different things that adults usually overlook.

At the beginning of “The Little Prince,” The pilot was characterized as practical and logical like a responsible adult. But as a child he had a vivid imagination and had a passion for drawing boa constrictor, but he would always be discouraged by adults who didn’t understand his artistic visions and they would tell him to focus on different things that are more useful in their eyes. He soon became a pilot and he focused on more practical matters and other characters that are usually adult would view him as an intelligent and reasonable person but they never realized that he had a creative inner self. Throughout the story and after his encounter with the Little Prince, the pilot goes through a transformation in the way he thought. The Little Prince always had questions and his unqiue perspective challenged the pilot and altered the way he thought as he listened to the Little Prince’s stories. He started to question the values and priorities of things adults value. By the end of the story, the pilot completely changed after his encounter with the Little prince. He rediscovered his imaginations and emotional connection. He started to value friendship and things that truly matter that adults usually would find useless.

Overall, I really like and value the story because in “The Little Prince” it explores many themes, like friendship, loss, and the true meaning of life, among others. The book’s explorations of these themes can be loved by readers of all ages. It makes the reader think of the world in a new way and not just what we are told to focus and think about.

In my opinion after reading this story I think everyone should try and read “The Little Prince” . It is a must read for anyone who appreciates imaginations and friendships and read the connection and bond between our many characters, the pilot and the Little Prince.  This book is well suited for anyone who enjoys a story that talks about the importance of a childlike perspective.

“The Little Prince” is more than a story; it talks about different things that connect to the hearts of readers from all different types of ages. It simply is one of the best stories I have ever read and it makes you appreciate different things more on multiple levels and it really is a must read.
