Time travel would be something that would interest almost everyone. If time travel was possible it would be very exciting but you would have to be prudent in deciding what time period to travel back to. Every time period has its own unique thing. Our world has changed so much over decades and it would be interesting to see how it has changed. There are so many major discoveries and inventions that shape our world today. Seeing these things in action when they first happened would be remarkable. I would choose to go back to the 1800’s and this is because I would want to learn more about this time period, what life was like, and to talk to people about their lives.

I would choose to go back to the 1800’s because I would want to know more about people's lifestyles. Seeing old paintings and learning about this time period doesn't feel like enough information. Back then they were very proper and women only wore dresses. I would find this interesting to see because women now get the opportunity to choose what they want to wear. I feel like many people in my generation would abhor wearing very fancy clothing all the time. This time period was definitely dangerous and did have its ups and downs. Women had no rights and would spend their days cleaning or taking care of children. They weren't allowed to get any education or have their own goals and dreams in life. Many people in my generation aren't appreciative of the education they have. Going back to this time period would make many people feel more privileged.  The 1800s were also fraught with wars which would be very dangerous but interesting to see what weapons they used for protection.

While traveling back into this time period I would want to hear about people's lives. I would ask questions like “what is your day like?” Or “what is one thing you wish you could change?” I would want to travel and see what that was like during the 1800s because transportation has evolved drastically. I’d be curious about the royal life so I would visit many places such as the palace, formal events, and see all of the luxurious lifestyles. I would try to see a historical figure and get clearer pictures of what they looked like because it is hard to tell from old paintings. Part of me would enjoy going to balls and living in this lifestyle. I would find it exciting to go in disguise and dress up although, you would have to be very prudent while doing this. 

I would choose to go back to the 1800’s and this is because I would want to learn more about this time period, what life was like, and to talk to people about their lives. Traveling back to the 1800s would be an unforgettable experience filled with discovery. It would be nerve racking witnessing events that we learn about in school. There would be so much to take in because there were so many differences in their everyday lives compared to ours. This would help me have a better understanding of how American society has developed. Technology and people were all so different back then, people had to act a certain way to be in society. Traveling back to the 1800s would be a one in a lifetime experience and we would learn so much more.
