Nowadays many people say that the world was a better place before Phones and WiFi and social media. I can't really have an opinion since as long as I have been alive there has always been some sort of major electronic. However, I would really like to know what the world was like before Phones, WiFi, etc which is why if I could time travel anywhere I would go to the 90s. The 90s feels like a time period that wasn't too far away to the point where I would definitely stand out, but it would also be a culture shock. I would want to go there to see what life was like when my parents were growing up, to see what it would be like to watch sports in the 90s, and what New York City was like in the 90s.

My parents always tell me stories about their childhood and growing up. They were both about 8-9 years old when the 90s started. My mother always tells me stories about what my summer camp was like when she was a camper. Also, my dad tells me stories about what it was like to be a teen in Philadelphia when he was growing up. Even though some of the stuff they tell me seems superficial, they also tell me some very interesting stories. I would want to go back and see first hand what it was like back then. The television, the different kinds of snacks, what kids used to do. I would want to go back and see what it was like for them to grow up.

Another thing that I would do is see what it was like to watch sports back then. All of my favorite teams except for the Knicks won a championship in the 90s. The Giants won the Super Bowl in 1991, The Rangers won in 1994, and the Yankees won in 96, 98, and 99. I can't imagine what my life would be like without sports. If I have no homework the first thing that comes to mind is to check and see what games are on. I am a huge fan of my teams and I always have been. Watching my teams win a championship with my own eyes is a dream come true and especially doing it while being back in time would make me fraught with happiness. 

I have lived in New York City for almost my entire life and I have heard many stories about what New York was like in the 90s and it seems very interesting to me. I would of course be prudent of where in the city I would go due to the high crime rates back then, meaning I would have to be very prudent walking around. Then again, it would be very cool to see important places in my life and what they were like 30 years ago. For example, my apartment building wasn't built until the late 2000s. I am very curious what the area that my building was in looked like back then. Another place that would be cool to look at would be my Dads house and his area. I don't know the history of his building but it would be amazing to see it. Walking around in New York 30 years ago would definitely be something I would never forget.

The world I live in right now is great and all. However, things like phones and social media definitely made it a different place. Back in the 90s people talked to each other in person, people seemed to be way more happy, the music was good, the movies and shows that came out back then are good. The world seemed to be a way simpler place back then. Which is why I would want to go back and see what it was like. In the end, the world now is great, but I have heard even greater things about the 90s. Who knows, maybe back then was even better than it seems.
